Not every book is unbelievable / But some are / The Unbelievable Book is about one such story... and it started with a question my grandmother asked me, while sitting on a bench, waiting for a train at Newcastle Railway station in 1990.

Q: ‘Isn’t it just a load of old stories?’
A: ‘Yes’

The end. But it wasn’t. A strange old book, a durable book that has outlasted empires and kingdoms. An unbelievable book? Maybe... In 2011 I turned to her question, 4 years later The Unbelievable Book represents my fuller answer. It explores the connection between branding, belief and the Bible. How an ancient pledge measures up when compared to the myriad of promises and slogans that surround us today. The brand slogans we buy into, the things that we chase, can’t escape, pursue and accrue. How would life look if we pursued a different kind of promise – an unbelievable promise?

Reviews
‘It is a lovely object – a big, bold, modern, colourful book, beautifully worked out and impeccably designed’ ‘…you have undoubtedly tackled a gigantic subject. It might have been easier to make it more complicated, but you certainly made the right decision to break it down into manageable sections, telling a compelling story in a simple way. Your writing is excellent, always to the point.’ ‘…it should be made available to every student of theology, as a demonstration that there is always a new way of telling a very old story.’

‘The Unbelievable Book is exactly that – unbelievable! I was amazed at how creative and thought provoking this excursion into storytelling was – I found myself immediately drawn into the narrative and challenged to think beyond what seems possible or even plausible. It will inspire you to think creatively about our Divine Creator, and encourage you to share the story with others! I strongly recommend this book!’
